See the League of Women Voter’s 2014 Voting Guide to Decide

The League of Women Voters published a 27-page, easily searchable voters guide (pdf) that's available to download on their website. The guide begins with a solid rundown of what to bring to the polls to be in compliance with new voter identification laws. It continues with extensive information about each candidate and race. The straight-forward format of this comprehensive guide illustrates differences between candidates that are sometimes hard to garner through typical campaign talking points. Each candidate within a race is asked the same set of questions in various topic areas, from the US Senate race to the Railroad Commissioner race, there are environmental questions posed throughout. This is a great way to know who you're voting for!

Take a look at the guide for telling answers to questions like:

  • The Environmental Protection Agency has recently proposed standards for new coal-fueled power plants under the authority of the Clean Air Act. What programs do you think are most effective to keep air pollution to a minimum? (US House of Representatives)
  • What should be the governor’s role in balancing environmental concerns with competing interests? (Governor)
  • What types of rules are needed regarding fracking and how should they be enforced? (Commissioner of Agriculture)
  • How would you encourage further conservation of water in agricultural use? (Railroad Commissioner)
