The UN, the Pope and the Garbage Can

In honor of World Environment Day UN Executives and staff were asked to take a pledge to reduce their carbon footprint. As part of the UN's Think Eat Save campaign they were challenged to reduce their foodprint.

Examples of pledges included "I will take only what I can eat" and "eat a leftovers lunch" "I'll buy local veggies and fruits" "I will buy vegetables in the local market" and "I pledge to learn about food storage and avoid spoilage. Several pledges were along the lines of eating less overall, asking for smaller portions in restaurants and eating what you need not what you want.
"Meat-free all day every day"
