UpLift Austin (UA) offers an innovative educational program to underserved high schools, introducing students to promising “green” careers, while designing and implementing projects to promote an environmentally sustainable campus. UA leverages local professionals to offer guest speakers, field trips, and a vast array of student-led campus improvement projects. Such projects may include outdoor classrooms, edible landscapes, recycling and rainwater harvesting systems. UA helps students build green career paths out of poverty while simultaneously transforming under-privileged schools into models for sustainable living.

In its 28th year of service, the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB) currently provides food and grocery products to more than 350 Partner Agencies in 21 Central Texas counties. In 2008, CAFB distributed more than 17 million pounds of food. The CAFB service area covers 19,064 square miles in Central Texas.
