Habitable Spaces

Habitable Spaces is a residency where artist will be given the opportunity to design and construct their own shelter on site – with very few rules curtailing the outcome! Each resident will work a minimum of 4 hours per day, three days a week on our farm. During our upcoming first residency period we aim to admit 6 artists, increasing to 12 in subsequent years. Habitable Spaces is expected to be open to the public in the fall of 2012.

Aquarena Center

Texas State University-San Marcos purchased Aquarena in 1994, changing the focus of the former theme park, from entertainment to preservation and education. The 90-acre acquisition has enabled Texas State to preserve the beautiful, ecologically fragile site for the state, while opening up classroom, lab and research possibilities for the university.
