Why we're green:

PERMACULTURE is a worldwide movement for sustainable design founded in the late 1970s by Australians: Bill Mollison and David Holmgren.

Permaculture is a design system for creating sustainable human environments. It’s a set of design PRINCIPLES and ETHICS for use by everyday people.

The cornerstone of Permaculture design is observing and mimicking patterns found in nature. People often stumble on permaculture through an interest in gardening. But Permaculture isn’t a gardening system per se. In fact, it’s as much about designing more sustainable buildings, towns, companies, neighborhoods, workplaces, professions, schools, economic transactions, and social organizations as it is about making agricultural practices more sustainable.

The Austin Permaculture Guild is an informal association of permaculture design course graduates who are dedicated to teaching and practicing permaculture.  Dick Pierce is our principal teachers who often teaches alongside: Selwyn Polit, Kirby Fry, Gary Freeborg etc.
