SUSTAINABILITY 101:
Michele’s talk will define what sustainability is, why it is critically important to all life on this planet and how you can make your home or office a more sustainable place to live or work. Sustainability is about more than the environment. It is also about financial sustainability, social equity, choosing ‘green’ products and putting your money where your beliefs are. Hallahan is a veteran of sustainability and has worked with world experts as well as local leaders on sustainability projects. Michele will teach you how to lower your utility bills while polishing your soul!

Michele Hallahan has been a leader and innovator in the environmental and sustainability sector for eighteen years. She established Eco-Logic, a sustainability consultancy based in Austin, TX. Michele has worked extensively with Fortune 500 companies and the University of Texas on environmental management and sustainability projects. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences on sustainability worldwide.
Michele is a board member of Design-Build-Live, a natural building educational non-profit in Austin. She was the vice chairwoman of Texas Solar Energy Society and co-founded the Green ‘Horns staff and faculty sustainability interest group at UT Austin in 2006.
She initiated and co-created the Green Map of Dublin which has been further developed by Cultivate, (formerly Sustainable Ireland), and is now published on the web. In 1999, she co-edited and co-authored the critically acclaimed Irish book, “Source – a sustainable guide to holistic living in Ireland”.
