Does everyone remember why and how Austin EcoNetwork came into being?

Why: Because there was and is a strong need to increase collaboration and communication between organizations & individuals- to grow Austin's environmental community.

How: Brandi started the Austin EcoNetwork listserv 6 years ago and is now working with her staff and volunteers on the website so there can be MORE communication tools to facilitate collaboration.

What you can do: Participate!!! Remember that the Network exists because of and for the Austin community. Increasing your participation (blogging, commenting, posting events, becoming a partner, volunteering) will ultimately enrich the Network's community and resultingly Austin's broader community!
Facilitate discussion, increase vibrancy of opinions: When you agree or disagree with a blog post, login and comment on it. Don't just send an email to our staff, let your opinion be heard throughout the Austin EcoNetwork community. Be an advocate: If you like what we do and want us to keep doing it, inform your network of acquaintances , co-workers, family, & friends.  Austin EcoNetwork empowers citizens, in fact our newest blogger, and very own, Christa French puts it into words very nicely here: Amateur Environmentalist

The EcoNetwork is in existence for the good of Austin's environment. Please login and comment on blogs, write emails to our staff to share feedback and ideas. A plethora of opportunities are available, one of which is crucial in our development of a comprehensive EcoDirectory.
We made progress at our data entry parties this weekend, but still have more to go so if anyone can find some time this week to stop by and help just give us a buzz. Please contact Brandi@AustinEcoNetwork.com or 512-939-9776 and let us know if you have a block of time when you can help out.
