Austin EcoNetwork's Mission:
Help Austinites lead the way toward a healthy, sustainable community and planet.

Actions:
We provide a valuable connecting place for Austin-area organizations, businesses and the public sector to share information and resources, dialogue and connect with each other, take action and shape policies that foster sustainability.

Individuals get connected with existing eco groups, businesses and thought leaders and are mobilized to take actions. Together we steward the planet’s resources, create healthy home and work environments, and contribute to a thriving local economy.

Austin EcoNetwork gathers, organizes, distributes, and shares information from and about local environmental groups and projects, and facilitates collaboration among those organizations, their constituents, and other stakeholders. We use online tools and community engagement to foster greater involvement in local environmental organizations, efforts, and events.

What we do:
• Create an easy way for people to get plugged into Austin’s eco priorities and opportunities
• Build community among Eco Leaders
• Provide Austin with a green focal point
• Increase participation in environmental service
• Boost participation, memberships and donations for green organizations
• Serve as a liaison between the community and local forms of government.
• Increase democracy and civic engagement on green issues
• Direct purchasing to local and green businesses and grow the Local, Green Economy
• Foster the development of a physical “green” community center
• Expand awareness and education on sustainability-related topics.
