Public can help define Chief Sustainability Officer profile
The City of Austin will initiate its nationwide search to fill the newly created position of Chief Sustainability Officer with a chance this week for the public to help define what type of person should fill the job.
The public meeting with City staff and search firm representatives will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, in the Boards and Commissions Room at Austin City Hall.
The person chosen for the executive-level position will oversee and coordinate City conservation and sustainability efforts in various City departments.
City initiatives range from green purchasing to solid waste recycling; water and electric conservation to green building.
