Roundup of the Roundup, Data Entry Help, Sustainable Food Policy Board Meeting
Natalie reports that the 10th Anniversary of the Renewable Energy Roundup (you can Search for that term in Twitter) was a great success in terms of exhibitors, attendance, and the depth of the presentations. Yea! Check out photos and updates on Facebook at this link: http://budurl.com/Roundup09. Mark your calendars for a comparable event, The Salado Stampede, also brought to you by Texas Solar Energy Society and Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association on April 17th & 18th in Salado, TX.
Data entry is not as exciting as festivals and Roundups so we really appreciate those who were able to help us with our EcoDirectories data entry this weekend. We made progress but still have more to go so if anyone can find some time this week to stop by and help just give us a buzz. Please contact Brandi@AustinEcoNetwork.com or 512-939-9776 and let us know if you have a block of time when you can help out.
The Sustainable Food Policy Board will be voting on two resolutions that support community gardens as well as urban agriculture and farms. Folks are welcome to attend this board meeting as well as any of the City's Boards and Commissions meetings. These venues are often the place where specific recommendations from the community get implemented into local policies. There are numerous vacancies on various boards and commissions. Consider applying to serve the city in an advisory capacity on an issue that is important to you! You can attend the meeting today at 12:30 at the Boards and Commissions room in City Hall.
