Environmental/Community Organizers
Texas Campaign for the Environment is looking for excellent new voices to develop lobbying strength on environmental issues here in Central Texas.
Since 1991, our mission has been to affect corporate and governmental policy through sustained grassroots organizing efforts... so naturally we are seeking driven activists to help us win the fight!
We are the largest and most successful environmental nonprofit in Texas, and the only one with a state-wide presence. Our current campaign includes:
- Asking WalMart to be a convenient drop-off point for free recycling of TVs and computers
- Banning electronics from our landfills
- Making it illegal to ship electronics to crude scrap facilities overseas
We're hiring entry-level community organizers to help develop outreach and education here in Greater Austin. Ideal candidates possess excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to the vision of a just, sustainable and equitable society.
Hours: Full time: Monday-Friday, 2-10PM. Part time: Any 3 or 4 weekdays, 2-10PM.
Pay: Full time: $375/week +bonuses Part time: $75/day +bonuses
