The Interfaith Environmental Network of Austin has started an action group that meets weekly to develop a program for congregations to become Carbon Positive. The Energy Action Team meets weekly to develop this program and help participating congregations to conserve energy use, improve efficiency and adopt more and more renewable energy strategies. Participating is free to anyone. Come all out, our meetings are open to the public. If you know somebody or a congregation that may be wanting to participate, please reach out to IEN.Energyteam@gmail.com

We had a wonderful energized meeting last week with more an more congregations getting involved. The coming months will be very important, both in shaping our local energy future with city council, but more importantly, our tools, ambition and implementation. We learned a lot last meeting and plan to do the same this coming meeting. Please check out the Climate Buddies facebook page for the agenda, it will be posted closer to the actual meeting.

p.s. you can get started with our Climate Audit based so you will learn the ten highest leverage activities and expenditure for your congregation that will help you focus on those areas that matter most!
