Youth Art & Permaculture Program Volunteer/Interns
We’re excited to involve community members in our program as volunteers, interns, and teaching artists! Join us and you will get to: -Engage with 11-14 year-old youth doing interactive projects involving the creative arts, health and wellness, environmental sustainability and team-building. -Learn a model of education that is empowering and youth-driven. -Take part in and help facilitate democratic decision making processes. -Learn empathetic and empowering approaches to conflict resolution and behavior management. -Do some really cool projects, including making movies, building gardens, compost systems, chicken raising, water collection systems, and cooking with local ingredients. -Develop lasting bonds with youth and adults dedicated to growing a beautiful, sustainable world. We will provide you ongoing training and support and work to find the best role that fits your interests and skills. The program runs Monday-Friday from 3:30-6:30pm on the EcoSchool campus at 4105 Manchaca starting September 4th. We ask that community partners commit to at least one day a week for a full semester.
